FirstDigital’s Chris Modesitt recognized by VLCM for outstanding work
PROVO, Utah – May 22, 2013 – Chris Modesitt, chief information officer of FirstDigital, a leading Utah telecommunications provider, was named one of Utah’s 30 CIO All-Stars by VLCM earlier this month.
Modessit has worked for FirstDigital since it was formed in 1987, and became CIO in 2009 when the company merged with Broadweave Networks and became FirstDigital.
“I’ve done everything from help desk to CIO as the company has grown from six employees to 135,” Modesitt said. “It’s been great to watch the company grow from the beginning and I feel lucky to be a part of a company that cares about investing in employees.”
“Part of the challenge of telecommunications in Utah is the abundance of service providers, so companies have to work hard to differentiate themselves,” Modesitt said. He said most people are not very happy with their provider, so part of his role is making sure each customer gets a more personalized experience and enough attention to needs and concerns.
“Chris has been invaluable in FirstDigital’s success,” said Drew Peterson, FirstDigital chief executive officer. “There is no problem that he won’t take on and figure out a solution to. He works really hard to make sure FirstDigital is at the top in terms of service and technology.”
The Utah’s 30 CIO All-Stars program was created by VLCM as a way of honoring CIOs who are innovating and helping Utah be recognized as one of the best states to do business. Three honorees are revealed each month from February to November in 2013, and are recognized by VLCM in Utah Business magazine.
